The Peregian Beach Business Association and Peregian Family and Friends Association teamed up to create a way for us as a community to show our gratitude to the men and women who fought so hard to save Peregian Beach in the recent bush fires. They aimed to raise $10,000 to donate to the Rural Fire Service (RFS), the volunteer organisation which worked with the professional emergency services, the police, SES and fire brigade, to protect Peregian Beach. Community support far exceeded this with funds raised in excess of $26,000. We now have a donation ready to go toward the construction of a dedicated Rural Fire Service Station to directly protect our community.
